They first met at Matarangi Beach early in January 2005. They were there separately with friends who were brother and sister and so were introduced. Casey remembered she really liked Michael's haircut. They chatted a little and got on easily. On the 5th of January 2005, Michael asked Casey out and they went to the movies for Casey's 15th birthday - Casey did however have to pay for her own movie ticket and popcorn. After spending a lot of quality time together, Casey and Michael fell in love. They knew they had met that once-in-a-lifetime person we dream about. They have achieved a great deal as a couple, created a life together and set goals for their future. They have found a completeness and compliment each other well.

Casey says Michael is everything to me, he's my soulmate. We talk about everything and laugh lots. I love his eyes. I knew from the start he was the one - I can't imagine my life without him.

Michael says Casey is my best friend: we share everything and have lots of fun. Every day when I leave for work she says 'drive safely'. I love her gorgeous smile.
